What I am loving Wednesday!

I am back! Sorry I missed last week.... I was enjoying a little vacation in San Diego
This sunscreen is amazing! My dermotologist recommended it to me for everyday wear! It has a nice tint so you can even use it as your base. I have very oily skin and since this is zinc based it has a matte finish! Love it
I use this every morning in my coffee..love it
I have been trying to watch my soda drinking.... Found this coconut flavored sparkling water and its amazing! Love it
So it seems weird to say I love this since it is a horrific story of survival by Marcus Lutrell ( Former NAVYSEAL), but I was lucky enough to hear him speak while I was in San Diego. He was the Lone Survivor of Operation Red Wing in Afghanistan. He is true hero as are all of our service members and I think coming off of Memorial Day its important to know the stories of these heroes. I purchased his new book and even had the opportunity to get it signed by him!

Bull Fest 2012

My good friend and I Danielle hosted our 2nd Annual Bull Fest in honor of our good friend Capt. Brandon "Bull" Barrett on May 12, 2012! Bull was KIA on May 5, 2010 while serving in Afghanistan. We choose to celebrate and honor his life by hosting Bull Fest and raising money for his Naval Academy Foundation Scholarship! We had another very successful year and were able to raise over $4,000 in his name! Here are some awesome pictures from the day!
A huge thanks to the Brass Pelican for hosting again!
Our Mascot for the day!
Danielle and I with Brandon's roommate Chris, who flew in from CA to cook the pig!
It was a beautiful day with a great turn out!

What I am Loving Wednesdays!

So I read a lot of blogs and a lot of them do this..... so I thought I would give it a shot!
First.... The view from my new office
While I am on that subject.......
Especially because........
Just bought this adorable little number at Target.... Perfect for hot summer days in the Sneads....
Speaking of hot days.... running is getting very hot and I found this to help with any unwanted blemishes from sweaty work outs......
Hope you enjoyed:) I will be back next Wednesday!

How to survive deployment #2

Some may wonder how I survive while my husband is deployed! Well the answer is...... stay busy and that I have done! Now don't get me wrong its still not easy but makes time pass a lot faster! We still have a few months to go but we are getting closer and closer to homecoming. I wanted to share some of the many things I do while Aaron is away!
First is foremost..... EXERCISE! It keeps me sane and helps me stay happy and healthy! I am lucky to have lots of great girlfriends in the neighborhood who also enjoy working out, so we RUN! Normally 2-3 mornings a week at 530am and then have coffee after and socialize!
- Since I run.... I sign up for races Here is a picture of my family before the Mini Marathon in Indy.
I garden.......
I volunteer for this awesome organization GIRLS ON THE RUN ......
I do house projects..........
Have visitors.............
Plan and host Bullfest.........
Sunday night dinners with friends (and crabs).......
Work for an awesome company........TroopSwap
Spend lots of time loving on this guy.......
Miss this guy........ spend time emailing him, writing him, and sending him packages...
And the NUMBER ONE thing I do to stay busy and survive a deployment.......... These girls.........

Earth Day Birthday Party

Sunday we celebrated two friends birthday by having a plant exchange for Earth Day! It was such a fun and different way to celebrate! Everyone brought a plant or something plant related ( I brought a garden stone) and then we drew numbers and selected a plant and of course you could steal up to three times just like a white elephant exchange!
Here are some pictures of our fun day!!
I am so lucky to have such great girlfriends to help pass the time during deployments! This truly is a special group of ladies talented, smart, strong, devoted...the list could go on but it takes a special person to be a military wife and I am proud to have them all as friends!
