What a great few weeks to be a Butler Bulldog fan! Although I did not go to school there, my dad, sister, brother in law and my mom (for her masters) did! My dad is the all time biggest Butler fan in the world! He has had season tickets for 30 years and I have attended more Bulldog games than all other basketball games combined!
I am so happy for my dad and family! Half of the Forgey/Jarrett family leave for Houston on Friday to cheer the dawgs on to victory!!!!
I will be cheering them on from here with Aaron and his family who is coming to visit this week! We cant wait!
GO DAWGS!!!!!

I came across your blog while looking up some info on Captain Barrett. My brother, SFC Collin J. Bowen, also made the ultimate sacrifice while serving in Afghanistan. He too was from Marion and was a Marion Giant. I think he and Brandon shared a lot of the same qualities that made them special heroes.
May 21st of this year is the 4th annual RUN FOR FREEDOM 5K & 2mi Walk in honor of the EIGHT soldiers from Grant County who have given their lives while serving in Iraq and Afghanistan. Not only did I want to invite you both to join us for the event, I also wanted to see if you could spread the word about the event. We're in contact with Brandon's family but they will not be able to attend this year (out of state). You can learn more about the event at www.runforfreedom5k.com or please feel free to email us at info@runforfreedom5k.com. Thank you for your service as well and God Bless. Shelby M. Bowen
Shelby,
Thank you for the information! We live in North Carolina so will not be able to attend but we will send it on to our family and friends that live in Indiana!
What a great way to honor your brother and others that gave the ultimate sacrifice!
Thanks for reaching out! Take Care
